Free plan: Overview
Whether you're just looking to try things out, or you don't want to pay, we're delighted to offer a free forever plan on Gaggle Mail (how we can afford to offer free groups).
How to join the free plan
When you create a group, it always starts on the Premium plan with a 30-day free trial. This trial only happens once. If you move to the free plan and upgrade later, your paid subscription starts straight away.
At the end of the 30 days, you can either start a paid subscription from just $0.10 per Member per month, or to switch to the free plan:
- Go to Billing

Select Free Plan and click Confirm Free Plan:
Switching a paid group to the free plan
If your group has a paid subscription, first cancel the subscription on your Billing page. Then select Free Plan and click Confirm Free Plan. The group needs to have 200 members or fewer.
Free plan restrictions
- 200 members maximum
- No direct from inbox sending
- No accepting messages from non-members
- No custom member fields
- No custom footer
- No custom welcome or invite message
- No custom domain
- No AI features

Let's get one thing straight. We will never show you ads and we will absolutely never sell your data.
For us, our free plan serves one purpose and one purpose only. It's a way for us to spread the word about Gaggle Mail.
When you use your group, you naturally invite people into it, and this is enough to warrant us having a free plan. That's why all groups on the free plan include a Gaggle Mail logo in the footer of group messages:
