Monitoring & detecting misuse

To maintain Gaggle Mail's reliability and trustworthiness with email providers, we monitor for signs of misuse. This helps safeguard deliverability for everyone on the platform and ensures that legitimate group emails function as expected. For most customers, this all happens quietly in the background.

What we look at (and what we don’t)

We don’t read or analyse the content of your messages. Instead, we observe how the system is being used and look at delivery-related signals, such as unusually high bounce or spam complaint rates, sending to recipients who haven’t opted in, or sudden increases in sending activity. No single signal automatically indicates a problem — we consider overall patterns.

If something appears unusual, we may temporarily pause sending while we review what’s happening. In most cases, we’ll contact you to explain what we’ve observed and request some context. Many issues are unintentional and can be resolved quickly.

What happens if something looks unusual

Our aim isn’t to block accounts or penalise users. It’s to prevent genuine mistakes from escalating into broader delivery problems and to protect the integrity of the platform for all.

If you’re unsure whether a particular use case is suitable, or if you believe your account has been flagged in error, simply contact support, and we’ll be happy to assist.
